My vocal range is between Alto and Soprano.
My first song I've chosen Someone to Watch Over Me by George and Ira Gershwin from the musical "Oh, Kay!". This video is an extract from movie based on the life of actress Gertrude Lawrence. I like this performance, because it shows 2 sides of actors life - preparation and performance, also I like Julie Andrews voice.
This is a ballad song, Kay, main character sharing her feeling with a doll.
This is my first recording of this song without studying it.
Song journey

After doing research, painting a song journey and understanding the context, I would sing this song in a higher range, because I think it might suit my voice better,
This is the 2nd recording of this song without music on the background
Still I have a feeling that, I do not project my voice in a full capacity. But when I am singing I do not notice it. Breathing exercise would help to fix it.
In this video I am performing song Someone to Watch Over me, as a monologue. As a result, I am going to perform this song with more understanding of the character and mood.
Final Performance
Overall, I am pleased with final performance. I did not have a doll, so I used a case for make-up brushes.
I ENJOY BEING A GIRL
My second song is I Enjoy Being a girl from the musical "Flower Drum song". It was performed in 1958. This is an extract from the movie with the same name. I took this part of the movie, because all minus is made for this version. This song is "I am" song which characterize main character.
This is my version of this song, first recording of it.
Research

After my first recording I re-watch my video. I was not pleased with the result, because I found my presentation of the song too sweet and monotone. Next time, I would try too project my voice more and I would try to sing in a lower range.
This is my second recording of the song, I have decided not to use any music to compare myself singing this song with and without music
Personally I like this song and I will take to the next stage. Final Performance!
In the next video I read this song as a monologue. I am doing this to make sure that I understand the song right.
Final Performance
I liked how the final performance went, even though I could not reach some notes. The mood of the song, the confidence of the characters in my opinion I showed it successfully with my gesture and props.
MEIN HERR
My third song is Mein Herr from musical Cabaret. The debut was in 1966 and then in 1972 the musical transformed to a movie with the same name. The movie won 8 Academy Awards, including Best Actress Liza Minnelli. This song is "I am" and introducing the character Sally not only to the audience, but also to Christopher (British student). This song is fast and well choreographed. Sally is free, independent and ready for adventures. In this song you can hear elements of breathing voice, slow moments, which are sexy and then they are changed on energetic, rhythmic elements which gives this song a humor and power to the singer.
This is my first recording of this song
Research
After doing a research and listening myself, I would sing this song in a lower range to give my voice more power and open the character more. Also, I should inhale more air while I am singing, so it would not be increasing in the end of each sentence. Liza Minnelli uses an accent while she is singing it. I think it might be German accent which I might try to recreate next time when I record it.
This is the second recording of the song:
After performing it for the second time I was still out of breath on some lines. This is a good song to practice and brilliant musical to watch (great story), but I won't take it for my final performance.
MOMENTS IN THE WOODS
My next song choice is Moments in the Woods from the musical Into the Woods. This is a written and composed song by Steven Sondheim. It is a ballad song, Baker's wife was just kissed by the Prince and she is expressing her feelings out loud.
Research and findings
Song journey chart

This song built complicated. It goes slow and then fast, but for my next recording I would try to sing it without Emily Blunt's voice.
This is my second recording of the song without music and Emily Blunt. I do like this song and I find the construction of the song really fascinating. As well, as meaning of the musical. I love the idea of fairy tales finishing differently. For example Cinderella after marrying Prince found out that she does not like to be his wife or Baker's Wife found out that she does not care about Baker, she likes Prince. It is like an alternative Universe, where Prince might be nice from outside and selfish, at the same time; Witch is evil, but at the same time she saves everyone in the end and etc.
I will defiantly take this song to my Final Performance.
In this video I am performing the song as a monologue. I found that this song was the easiest to perform in this style.
I'd GIVE MY LIFE FOR YOU
Next song I chose "I'd give my life for you" from the musical Miss Saigon. It was written and composed by Claude-Michel Schönberg. The song is in the end of the 1st act and it is a ballad of the main character Kim about her child.
Song Journey

My first recording of the song
After listening my version of the song I realized that I did not project my voice at all, for the second recording I would stand instead of sitting. This helps my diaphragm work on full capacity.
FAR FROM THE HOME I LOVE
My next song is from musical Fiddler on the Roof, Far from the Home I Love. It was written by Jerry Bock and Sheldon Hanrick.

My first recording for this unit
After I watch myself again, I found my performance more vocal than emotional. I record this song 2nd time without music to see the difference in my voice and performance
I think my second performance was better, but with few notes out of tune.
Even though I like this song and I know it, I won't take it for my Final Performance.
I Don't Need your Love from musical Six
